About Abbey – Integrative Therapist
In life I’ve usually taken the path less travelled, and as a result of this I have a wealth of life experiences that I can bring to the table. My path to becoming an Integrative Therapist hasn’t been any different to the rest of my life. By learning a diverse, some might say eclectic, set of skills I am better placed to provide the correct tool at the right moment to help you unlock the root causes of your problems. I’ve attained qualifications in psychology, CBT, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, and psychospritual shamanism and am currently working towards a qualification in nutritional therapy. Rather than working towards symptom reduction, I prefer to work in a holistic manner, finding the causes of the issue, gaining understanding and teaching techniques to release whatever is troubling you.
Integrative therapy understands that you are unique, and together we explore your world to find understanding of the factors that have created the situation you find yourself in. To achieve true freedom from the problem we then work to address the root causes of the issue, By taking a holistic approach you deal with and move on from unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour in a way that’s right for you.
As a result of working in the community sector I have significant experience working with clients who are feeling vulnerable. Everything that you choose to share with me in sessions is completely confidential. My role is to provide you with a safe and supportive environment where you can explore freely without fear of judgement.
When looking to begin therapy, choosing the right person to work with you can feel daunting. You’ll want to feel confident that you’ve made the right choice and that I have the skills and abilities to be able to assist you. If you’d like to have a chat with me, I’d be happy to speak to you either by phone or email so you can be sure that we are a good fit.
If you’d like to find out how I could help you, please get in touch.
